IBPS PO Examination

Officially (or academically) IBPS PO examination is known as the Common Written Examination or CWE. The purpose of this popular examination is to select candidates for the posts of probationary banking officers in various banks in the whole country.

Those banks coming under the huge groups of the public sector banks (PSB) in particular employ aspirants after this examination.

What’s more?

A candidate might also get a chance to work as an employee in the insurance companies that have partnered with any of these banks.

Interesting, isn’t it?

The examination happens in three stages.

The prelims mean the preliminary exam, which is usually a test based on objective type questions.

The Mains Exams is the main written exam. It is also the final examination of this test.

The interview round happens based on the marks obtained by both the preliminary and the mains examination. Interview rounds also carry marks.

IBPS Clerk Examinations

IBPS clerk examinations come under the name of IBPS clerical cadre. This exam is usually held online.

There are three stages to the examination.

The Preliminary examination consists of objective questions. The aspirant needs to study Numerical Ability, Reasoning and Basic English language.

Merits of clerks are evaluated with the help of the IBPS clerk Mains exam. Candidates need to advance themselves in studying a variety of subjects including Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Aptitude, General Awareness, Financial awareness and English.

IBPS SO Examination

It means the IBPS SO Examination. The examination is similar to the structure of any IBPS probationary officer examinations.

Usually, there are the preliminary and the mains examination for IBPS SO exams. It carries objective questions. But, the subjects vary here. You need to study Reasoning, Quantitative aptitude, General Awareness and, of course, English.

The following examination to the prelims is the IBPS SO Mains Examination, which is a little bit different from the clerk and the PO exams.

Here, one gets both objective questions and questions on specialisations or particular fields of study. For example, the post language advisors like the ‘Rajbhasha Adhikari’ carry both objective and descriptive questions.

IBPS RRB Examination

RRB stands for Regional Rural Banks. So, it is easy to understand that this exam opens doors to jobs in mostly the banks serving the rustic regions of the country. However, the cooperative banks and some public sector banks are included in the groups of banks dedicated for this kind of services.

The IBPS RRB examination is taken differently based on alternative requirements. There are posts for officers (Scale I, II and III) along with office assistants.

Preliminary examinations are the ones with objective questions. However, there are different exams meant for officers and office assistants.

Mains exam carries descriptive question types. But, like the prelims, alternative question papers are made keeping in mind about the posts of the officers and office assistants.

SBI PO Examination

SBI PO Examination means the Examination for Probationary officers. It basically selects the candidates for management purposes. Selected employees are appointed as probationary officers first and then are trained to conduct management related tasks.

The preliminary examination is conducted with objective questions. Marks obtained in the preliminary examination determine if the candidate can appear for the mains examination.

Performance of the mains examination is not difficult to qualify. There are two parts of this examination having different traits in question patterns.

There is an objective test and a descriptive test that compose the entire question pattern of the mains exam. For the objective examination, you need to study General Knowledge, Banking Awareness, Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, Economy, Reasoning and English.

The descriptive test has only two subjects and they are written English and Business settings. It evaluates how you are using your skills in these two subjects.

The final stage of this examination is the SBI PO Group Discussion and the interview round. In this round, the final merit list is selected and is shown.

SBI SO Examination

As mentioned earlier, the SO examination stands for the exam for selecting the Specialist Officers. It selects officers on particular areas of the workforce or specialised banking operations.

The exam pattern of the SBI SO examination is the same as the SBI PO examination.

SBI Clerk Examination

In this examination, junior associates are evaluated and then selected as clerks to work in the SBI.

A preliminary examination of objective questions is the first of the two tests.

The ultimate examination is known as the Mains examination with descriptive type questions.

SBI Associate Examination

SBI Associate Examination or the SBI Junior Associate Examination does not have much difference with the SBI clerk examination. Usually it means appointing the Junior Associates and the junior Agricultural associates under the clerical selection process of the bank.

Usually you don’t find any descriptive type questions in this exam for the associates only.

However, like the other exams of clerical posts, the exam for the SBI Associates also has a preliminary test as the first evaluating examination. You have to study Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and the English Language to qualify this test.

As mentioned earlier, the Mains examination for this category is taken online and there are no descriptive questions here. However, the candidate has to study Quantitative Aptitude, General and Financial Awareness, Reasoning Ability, Computer Aptitude and the English Language.

RBI Officer Grade B Exam

The Reserve Bank of India is one of the most famous and influential banks to work in. A post in the RBI is prestigious and secure without a doubt. The RBI generally conducts its own examinations by its rules and regulations.

The RBI officer Grade B examination is for filtering the candidates as the mid-senior officers for the bank. The posts are widely created and people may apply for either general or specialised officers in the RBI.

What’s more surprising is that you can also get the post of a research professional. Candidates with a PhD are usually suited for this kind of job role.

RBI Assistant Examination

Well, this post is quite the same with the clerical posts of the bank. In RBI Assistant Examination, candidates are selected as assistants and sub-officers in different branches of the RBI.

Federal Bank Examinations

If you want to get hired in one of the leading private sector banks in India, then it is the Federal Bank.

It conducts its online tests at first on Aptitude. This examination is followed by Group Discussion and Interview rounds to evaluate a candidate progressively and ultimately appointing him or her.

The subjects one needs to study for clearing the Federal Bank Examination are General and Financial Awareness, Marketing Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English language.

BOB Manipal PO

The Bank of Baroda and the Manipal University have started BOB Manipal PO, a collaboration to appoint banking professionals in the Manipal School of Banking or BMSB.

The examination is quite similar to that of the Federal Bank Examinations.

Candidates are required to qualify an open test conducted by the authority online. The test is then followed by a Group Discussion and Interview round.

Andhra Bank PO Recruitment Examination

Again the PO stands for Probationary Officers to be appointed in Andhra Bank.

There are 4 tests consisting of a total of 200 marks. The subjects for these 4 papers are Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, general Awareness and English language.

Dena Bank PO Examination

Dena Bank PO examination is again one of the most influential banks. Aspirants from all areas of the country value a post on Dena bank.

There are two separate parts of the examination conducted by Dena Bank. The first one is the online examination, which includes both descriptive and objective tests. The other following tests are Group Discussion and Interview round.

What subjects do you need to study? Well, they are Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language for the objective test. The descriptive test is basically on the English Language.

Along with the group discussion and interview round, the full examination for Dena Bank carries 350 marks.

Canara Bank Examinations

Known for its extended recruitment operations and many branches across the country, Canara Bank can be defined as the bank people view and estimate with respect.

No wonder a job here can make you happy!

The Canara Bank exam pattern is simple. You don’t need to study many subjects at all. Practise Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and the English Language and you are good to go for the examination.

Canara Bank observes its tests in three stages and they are the online examination, Group Discussion and Interview Round.

IDBI Bank Executive Examination

It is quite easy to get into this bank as a banker. Unlike other common bank examinations, the IDBI Bank relaxes its candidates in the part of examinations.

You have got to clear an online test for being an IDBI Bank Executive. But, you have to study 3 subjects, which remain as divisional categories in the online examination.

These subjects are Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and the English Language.

The full online test consists of a total of 150 marks.

NABARD Examination

This is a rural area focussed banking service. However, jobs in this sphere are quite interesting as well.

The NABARD or the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development is responsible to conduct the examination of this type and standard.

It usually recruits managers to look after its huge workforce being conducted for the benefit of the rural areas in the country.

There are two examinations to take care of. The first one is the Preliminary Examination, which takes one to the next Mains Examination according to performance and merit.

The Mains Exam has two papers. Paper-I is a descriptive paper but it is generally based on comprehensive skills in the English Language. Paper-II is also a descriptive question based paper but it is attributed by questions on the specialisations as ascribed to the post a candidate is aiming for.
