RRB ALP NOTIFICATION

Railway Recruitment 2024 is going to be carried out to recruit candidates for the post of Technicians & Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP). Railway Recruitment Board conducts this exam every year providing candidates a golden chance to grab a job in the prestigious Government Sector.This is a common exam that the Indian Railways Conducts to recruit Assistant Loco Pilots & Technicians in various units of the Indian Railways Regions.

To apply for both the posts – ALP & Technicians, a single application is to be submitted by all the candidates who wish to appear for the Railway Exam 2024.

RRB ALP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18-30 years as on 01-07-2018. Age relaxation is applicable 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Pwd (UR), 13 years for PwD (OBC), 15 years for PwD (SC/ ST) candidates & for others as per rules.

Educational Qualification:
For Post A: Candidates should possess Matriculation/ SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/ SCVT in the trades of Armature and Coil Winder/ Electrician/ Electronics Mechanic/ Fitter/ Heat Engine/ Instrument Mechanic/ Machinist/ Mechanic Diesel/ Mechanic Motor Vehicle/ Millwright Maintenance Mechanic/ Mechanic Radio & TV/ Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic/ Tractor Mechanic/ Turner/ Wireman or Matriculation/ SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade or 3 years Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile Engineering or Combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognized Institution in lieu of ITI. For Post B: Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCV in relevant trades or Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade mentioned in notification. For more information refer notification.

RRB ALP APPLICATION FEE AND INTIMATION CHARGE:

RRB ALP Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for both the exam stages are given below:

First Stage CBT (CBT 1)

  • These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
  • The score of first stage exam shall be used only for shortlisting of candidates for second stage exam as per their merit.

  • Total Duration: 2 hours and 30 Minutes (for Part A and Part B together)

Computer Based Aptitude Test:

  • Qualifying marks: The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
  • Candidates equal to 8 times number of ALP vacancies shall be shortlisted for Computer Based AT (based on their performance in Part A of the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT).
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test battery of Computer-Based AT for considering them for the post of ALP.
  • The Computer-Based Aptitude Test shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi. There shall be no negative marking in Computer-Based AT.
  • The ALP merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer-Based AT.

Shortlisting of Candidates:

  • Shortlisting of Candidates for the Second Stage CBT exam shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in the First Stage CBT Exam.
  • The total number of candidates to be shortlisted for the second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.
  • However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific trade(s) as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts.
  • The marks scored in Part A alone shall be used for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of the recruitment process subject to the condition that the candidate is securing qualifying mark in Part B.
  • Part B is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

RRB ALP How to apply

  • Candidates can apply for vacancies of any one RRB only through ONLINE application mode by visiting the official website of RRBs.
  • Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no.which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/advices etc. by email/SMS.
  • Submit the Application Form.
  • The payment can be made by using debit card/credit card/Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with fee details will be generated; which may be printed for record.
  • Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.

RRB ALP Syllabus

Part A

The syllabus for Part A shall be as below:

  • Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
  • Basic Science and Engineering: The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc.
  • General Awareness of Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.

RRB ALP Admit Card

  • Step 1: Candidates will be provided with the link to the official website where he/she needs to provide the details about the application form to download the admit card
  • Step 2: Candidates need to provide their registration number, date of birth and the password
  • Step 3: After entering all the details in the required boxes, candidates will be taken to the download page where admit card download link will be given
  • Step 4: After clicking on the download link, the RRB ALP Admit Card will be downloaded
  • Step 5: The admit card will be in the pdf format. Candidates are advised to take the printout of the admit card and save the soft copy of the admit card in their computer for further reference
  • They must carry admit card at the time of appearing in the exam otherwise they will be restricted from appearing in the exam.
