Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage):

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: (Elementary Stage)

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Note:
i. Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled.

ii. Diploma/ Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, a diploma/degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

iii. Training to be undergone: A person with D.Ed (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment an NCTE recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education.

iv.The minimum qualifications referred above apply to teachers of Languages, Social Studies/Social Science, Mathematics, Science etc. In respect of teachers for Physical Education, the minimum qualification norms for Physical Education teachers referred to in NCTE Regulation, dated 3rd November, 2001 (as amended from time to time) shall be applicable. For teachers of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science, Work Education, etc. the existing eligibility norms prescribed by the State Governments and other school managements shall be applicable till such time the NCTE lays down the minimum qualifications in respect of such teachers.

v. Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are provisionally admitted and their CTET Certificate shall be valid only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.

vi. The candidate not having any of the above qualification shall not be eligible for appearing in Central Teacher Eligibility Test.

vii. The candidate should satisfy his/ her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/ she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency/ appointing authority.

Validity Period of CTET Certificate:

i. The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.

ii. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

CTET Online Form 2020

CTET online form will begin on February, 2024 at https://ctet.nic.in/. You can fill CTET application form till March, 2024 (The last date to apply online for CTET). However, you can submit CTET online application fee until March 2024.

CTET Exam Pattern

All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.
There will be two papers of CTET.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intents to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

I. Paper I (for classes I to V) Primary Stage: Duration of Examination- Two and a half hours.
Structure and Content (All Compulsory):

Nature and standard of Questions: 

1. The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
2. The Test items in Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. The Test items in language II will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
3. Language II will be a language other than Language I. A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options and will be required to specify the same in the Confirmation Page.
4. The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I – V by the NCERT/CBSE.
5. The questions in the test for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT/CBSE for classes I – V but their difficulty standard as well as linkages, could be up to the Secondary stage.

II. Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage: Duration of Examination- Two and a Half Hours.

CTET Admit Card

1. Visit the official site of CTET- https://ctet.nic.in/
2. Click on Admit Card download link
3. Fill the required details like registration/application ID, Password/DOB
4. Click on the submit button
5. Your admit card will appear on your computer screen
6. Download the CTET Hall Ticket/Admit Card.
7. Take the printout of your admit card for future use

CTET Details Required to Download CTET Hall Ticket

To download your CTET Admit Card, it is important to have correct registration ID and your password (DOB). Without these details, you won’t be able to download your CTET Hall Ticket. It is advised to keep your details like registration ID and password safe at the time of filling up the CTET application form. We advise you to note down your registration ID for future use (downloading CTET Hall Ticket).

Important Instructions to download CTET 2024 Hall Ticket

• Please check all the information written on your admit card. Make sure the spellings are written correctly.
• Read the instructions mentioned on your CTET admit card carefully.
• Follow the guidelines mentioned to avoid last-minute rejection.
• On your admit card, the reporting time, exam timings, and your CTET exam centre will be mentioned.
• Reach your exam centre before time (30 mins before reporting time) to avoid any problem.
• Do not fill any column of your admit card in the absence of your invigilator. Make sure you fill the details in front of your invigilator at the time of CTET exam.
• Please check your documents carefully before taking it to the exam centre.

Common Issues While Downloading Admit Card

• Use PC to download your CTET admit card.
• Due to high traffic on site, your download might fail. We suggest you download it during night time when the traffic on site is low.
• Try to use a high-speed internet connection.
• Use Chrome browser, in case you are getting difficulty in opening the site.
• Make sure you are entering the details correctly while downloading the admit card.

CTET About CTET 2020 Exam

The CBSE will conduct the CTET 2024 exam for aspirants for the appointment as a Teacher for Class 1st (I) to Class 8th (VIII). As per the notification, the CTET paper will take place in two parts; Paper I and Paper II. Both the CTET papers will take place on July 2024. The CTET Paper I will be held in the morning between 09.30 am to 12.00 pm, whereas the Paper II will be held in the afternoon between 02.00 pm to 04.30 pm. Please note that the CTET exam will take place in an offline mode (Pen-Paper).

This year, the CTET exam date will take place in total 20 languages, these are Hindi, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Assamese, Oriya, Gujarati, Khasi, Malayalam, Kanada, Telugu, Bangla, Manipuri, Tamil, Tibetan, Garo.

The CTET online application has not started yet, and the date to apply online is due. However, the CTET admit card date has been yet to be announced, i.e, June 2024. We will keep you posted on all the latest updates about CTET 2024.

CTET Result

The declaration of results will be done by CBSE after the examination of CTET is conducted. The final result date is yet to be announced by the CBSE. However, the exam result will be declared after 6 week from the date of exam.
