Introduction

IBPS SO stands for IBPS Specialist Officer. Like any office, a bank requires people for keeping it’s “nuts and bolts” intact. While the Probationary Officers and Clerks run the day-to-day operations and business in a bank. There are several specialist officers in a bank. IT Officer (Scale-I) – It would be the responsibility of IT officers to oversee the technological perspectives of banking affairs, both software, and hardware. Nearly all banks contracting in the “IBPS recruitment” have shifted to core-banking for operations, and they use software like FLEX CUBE, Finacle, BanCS, SAP, etc. An IT officer will undergo training in all these domains HR/Personnel Officer (Scale-I)- HR officers in a Bank usually handle the training and induction of new employees, circulating appraisal forms, forming leave schedules, creation of salary accounts, etc. Senior HR managers conduct interviews, take classes, deal with labor laws, promotion and other serious matters Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale-I)- The individual applying for the post of Rajbhasha Adhikari should be able to create error-free Hindi documents, and translate smoothly between Hindi, English and other regional* languages. Marketing Officer (Scale-I)- Duty of an officer in this category is to improve the profits and market presence of the bank through various campaigns and promotions. Law Officer (Scale-I)- They are responsible for making it sure that the bank functions in compliance with the law of the land. Agriculture Officer (Scale-I)- The primary responsibility of an Agriculture officer is to promote banking services among farmers and cultivators. IBPS SO Specification

There are few major changes noticed in the IBPS SO Exam Pattern post-release of Official IBPS SO Notification. Let’s have a look at all the changes one by one.

  • The IBPS SO 2019 exam pattern for selecting candidates is based on Rajsabha Adhikari Scale I and Law Officer.
  • The Exam Pattern for all the other posts is different from the exam pattern of Law Officer and Rajsabha Adhikari Officer.
  • The Mains Examination has just one section, i.e. of Professional Knowledge
  • Only three sections will be asked in the Preliminary Exam of the IBPS SO 2019 Exam. For Rajsabha Adhikari and Law Officer sections asked are English Language, Reasoning and General Awareness and for other posts sections asked are of English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • The score of the Preliminary Exam will not be taken into consideration for the final selection. A cumulative score of Mains Exam and Interview process will be taken into consideration for the final selection.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for different positions for which the candidates are selected through IBPS SO 2019 Exam. There are three parameters (citizenship, age limit and educational qualification) on which a candidate is judged to be eligible for IBPS SO 2019 Exam.

Minimum Age: 20 Years

 

Maximum Age: 30 Years

Syllabus

IBPS SO exam syllabus is no different from any other bank exam. While IBPS issues only the broad subjects, they can be further subdivided into individual topics, based on the questions that have appeared in the exams over the past few years. The IBPS SO syllabus is divided into two parts: IBPS SO Preliminary Exam Syllabus: This has main section of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language and Generala Awareness. IBPS SO Mains Exam Syllabus: Asks questions just from the specialised course that a candidate is proficient in.. It is important to note that the Specialised Section will be different for candidates applying for different posts through SBI SO 2017 exam

Application Fee

A candidate is required to pay Rs. 600/- (General and OBC) as their application fee for IBPS SO 2017 exam. The same amount is narrowed down to Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.
